VIC Masters upset in Provincial Final
Coming off another outstanding regular
season which saw our Master's take first place in Edmonton, their
run of provincial titles would come to an end as this year they had
to settle for silver. Regardless, this is one of the strongest
masters teams in Western Canada and looks to build up to another
championship run next season.

The Victoria Soccer Club has a very long and proud tradition at the
senior level. Having played its first game 60 years ago,
Victoria has won many titles in competitions in both the Masters,
Men's and Women's competitions. Recently our Masters team has
been to two consecutive Western Canada Games Championships winning a
Gold medal last year. Our AMSL women's team heads into this
outdoor season as the two-time defending provincial championship and
in those years has achieved a National Gold and Silver medal.
This upcoming season promises to be an exciting one as our Masters
men look to continue their impressive run as Alberta's top team, our
Women's program looks to repeat on three championship seasons last
summer and our Men look to earn their way back to the Major League.
Senior Men's Program
After a few years of trying to rebuild the
Victoria Senior Men's program is now looking to bring in a coach
that will lead us back to the AMSL. Playing on one of top
pitches in Alberta and boasting a club house and team locker room
that are not seen in any other program in Alberta, a return to the
proud tradition and history of this club is not far off.
Currently we run two teams, one in Premier and a reserve team that
plays in the 1st division. Sasha Samadi is our head coach of
the men's division one team and now we are looking to bring in an
experienced coach that will work to achieve our goal of getting back
to major league.
If interested please contact the office and ask to speak to Karl.
Senior Women's Program
Having finally adopted a complete women's
program with some of the top players in our province at the 94
and 95 age group, our women's program will now run a true
reserve team. The goal of our senior program is of course
to continue to compete for national honors at the major league
level but also look to develop our younger players to play major
league and of course obtain the necessary skills to earn NCAA or
CIS scholarships.
